Rada committee backs crypto bill for second reading

The finance committee of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada has supported bill No. 10225-d on regulating the circulation of virtual assets: the document has been recommended for a second reading and for adoption as a whole.
The bill introduces mandatory authorization for specialized services. It also provides for a tax on annual profit from cryptocurrency operations: 18% personal income tax and a 5% military levy.
Separately, the document addresses the exchange of one digital asset for another.
For those who hold or exchange cryptocurrency in Ukraine, this means operations may fall under the requirement for service authorization and under taxation of annual profit at the stated rates.
