CFTC Allows Perpetual Futures on Stocks in the US

Regulated US exchanges can launch perpetual futures on individual companies' stocks starting November 3. The announcement came from Michael Selig, chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Perpetual futures are contracts without an expiration date, a tool already used in crypto trading. It is now permitted on the stock market under CFTC oversight.
For someone holding or exchanging crypto, the news matters because an instrument familiar from the crypto market has gained regulated use on the US stock market as well.
